Senior Security Researcher

When you join Team Awesome, you will be an integral part of this energetic, fast-moving team delivering incredible, innovative improvements to our Secure Code Warrior platform. We create a rich, gamified and engaging user experience. You will be part of the core development team that makes this revolutionary platform a success, working closely with senior experts to agree on future improvements, content requirements and deliver quality secure code examples.

Key responsibilities

You should be keen to work in a dynamic and young startup environment, helping us quality check the content for our platform. You will be the gatekeeper of amazing, secure and also deliberately, specifically b0rken code- reviewing in-platform challenges and writing your own. There will be some technical writing involved, but above all you will be ensuring we maintain our high content standards across the platform.

We do not have any official working hours and we do give you a lot of freedom, but we require that you take up accountability, be a team player and deliver with quality and security in mind.

The must-have skills we need in our next Secure Code Warrior:

• You are a passionate, senior software engineer with some years of professional experience, and work with an automation oriented, problem-solving, secure mindset.
• Direct development experience in at least 2 or 3 of the following languages: Java, C#, Node JS, Front end Javascript frameworks (i.e. Angular, React, etc.), C, C++, Scala, Go, Ruby on Rails, Python, PHP, Java Android, Swift, Objective C, Kotlin, PL/SQL, COBOL, RPG.
• Masterful code reviewing skills, with attention to detail that would make Sherlock Holmes proud.
• Much more than a passing knowledge of secure software development practices i.e. Specific experience working in a software security role would be a big advantage.. -
• Above-average English skills, both in a technical writing sense and as an editor/reviewer of others’ work.
• The ability to be a self starter in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent time-management and prioritizing abilities.
• A passion for new technologies.
• Insatiable desire to grow yourself, your team and the company.

Nice to have:

• Software design experience, including writing system specifications.
• Formal training and/or presentation skills.
• Worked as, with, or even managed, outsourced software development teams.
